We watched televison for most of the two days since the attack. The first hint of criticism from Congress, about Bush's absence from Washington prompted the news media--"An NBC EXCLUSIVE" story that the White House and Airforce One were targetted by the terrorists--to come out, by KNBC stating, "... the plane that hit the Pentagon was originally targetted for the White House."
When incredulous reporters asked how they knew this, a spokesman said that "the cell phone call by Ms. Owens, from that plane stated so." (She was on the plane, and died in the crash, but made two cell phone calls to her husband that were reported earlier and did not include such a statement.)
Then the President's Press Secretary, Ari Fleischer, re-told the lie by saying they had "real and credible evidence of the targetting of Air Force One and the Whte House by the terrorists." Of course, he refused to say what the "evidence" was.
Then the television media started putting a trailer on the bottom of the screen re-stating the lie. They attributed false reports about recordings from the Pennsylvania crashed airliner that it was headed for Washington and the White House. In fact, the recording was a voice transcript of the terrorist posing as the plane captain, saying, "....... they were returning to the airport." (The flight had originated in Newark.) Then, Ashcraft repeated the lie in his statement to the people about the FBI investigations in Florida.
Now, this morning the story is a headline on the front page of the Reno Gazette.
In Mein Kampf, Hitler wrote that the best way to propagandize the people was to repeatedly, restate a big lie.
The fact that they are ignoring all the fingerprints of Iraq and pointing to Ben Ladin from the get-go, leads to the conclusion that this White House is no more honest than that of Clinton.
Clinton made the cowardly bully's Cruise Missile attack on Sudan and Afghanistan, without warning, and without credible proof that they were at fault, in the embassies' bombings, in Africa. It was a politcal sop for the American People, who wanted revenge and had nothing to do with "justice." Many innocent people were killed in those two attacks, including children.
Now, we are in a terrible game of, "take this, take that"--trading blows with no end in sight. Just like the in the Middle East.
ALL of America's problems are rooted in our leaders' lack of Honor.
