Gold Reef Mining Camp - Denizens pose in front of the camp's first business, a combination saloon, restaurant, barber shop, & general store, on October 11, 1908. Gold Reef, 12 miles north of Goldfield, vanished in 1910.



Oscar Batling "battling" Nelson arrives in Goldfield, in 1906, to fight Joe Gans for the lightweight boxing championship, on Labor Day. Tex Rickard of Tonopah, was the promoter of the bout.



The bottle-gabled house is on Hiway 93 in Goldfield, today.
