The Keane Wonder Mine, as it is in 2005.

The Keane Mine was discovered in earl 1900 and worked until 1911. It was sold by Keane, the original prospector, for $150,000.00.
Just under the cable tramway, of which trestles can be seen at the top of the"V' slopes, behind the frameworks, a three stamp mill was located. The stamp mill was said to process 1800 tons of ore a day.
The U.S. Forest Service has placed a kiosk-sign board at the site, with a fine photo, ca. 1910, and a brief history of the mine.
