Surname: Moneymaker, Gilson
Jeff,
I am researching the 1st Tennessee Infantry (USA) and , in visiting cemeteries in the area, have come across a few of your 6th Tennessee soldiers. They are: Samuel L. Gilson, Company D, buried at Concord Masonic Cemetery, Knox County;Matthew Moneymaker, Company D, buried at Union Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery, Knox County; and James Moneymaker, Company D, buried at New Bethel Baptist Cemetery, Roane County. I have digital photographs of these military headstones if you would like them. Also, fyi, James and Matthew Moneymaker were members of Concord #30, Department of Tennessee and Georgia, Grand Army of the Republic. I happen to have the record books for this post (from my g-grandfather's possessions). There are other 6th Infantry men too: G. C. Davidson, Company D; William M. Dines, also Company D and B. F. Doughty, also Company D again. If you want more information, let me know.
